rubber worm

Do you mean rubber eel?

If so yeah I have one he is pretty cool alhtough they hide ALOT!!

Typically, what is sold as a 'rubber worm' is actually a unique group of quasi-amphibians known as caecilians. They originate only from Columbia, and any we see in the shops have likely been smuggled out of the country, into Venezuala and exported from there. Columbia has closed its borders to the fish trade and it is unlikely to reopen anytime soon.

They have only basic requirements, being quite easy to keep in de-chlorinated tap water of varying pH and hardenesses. They do have good appetites, and can be fed anything from shrimp pellets to bloodworms to mbuna fry. You may have gotten by now that they are not suitable for your guppy tank...

Keep them in a 33 gallon or larger WITH A TIGHT FITTING LID and enjoy them for years to come.

Hope that helps,
/Kris

i think a 30 gallon is much too small for one of these. I saw one in a 240 gallon that was almost the length of the tank! and yes, the will get out if the chance is given
