well i have this left over suction cup that i used for hanging my clothes... will it be safe to place in my tank ? knowing that some materials might leak chemicals into the water ? just being sure :)

Unless its been treated with some kind of paint chemical, I cant see why not. Sadly, I resort to the taste test lol. I put it in water, then see if it has a taste (chemicals will have a strong tatse).

If it doesnt, consider yourself brave. If it does, consider yourself hospitalized! (Joke, of course).

DB :fish:

well yup ! i placed it in a cup of water and after a few hours er... tasted the water and it tasted a bit rubbery so im scrapping the idea of using the suction cup :) hehe thanks for the tip btw

The only polymer-stuff (Plastics and rubber) that should go in the tank are ones specifically designed for aquariums or stuff that is intended for use on human food. I only use rubber bands that are used to keep together bundles of green onions at the grocery store; those are aquarium-safe, others aren't.

its a good thing i asked before placing it in the tank, if you smell the suction cup and inhale deeeply :alien:, it smells bad
