Rubber Eel's For Sale<not Mine>

I think they are a member of this forum, Chris Ralph, hes got loads of great fish for sale I;d have all of em but hes toofar away from me

LOL You should get them! there is a loophole, its an amphibian not a fish, so it doesn't count ;).

Though a few things I noticed on the ad. It doesn't sound like he knows their sex's. They are fairly easy to sex. Here shows pics of the difference in the vents between male and female. The only issue is getting them to stay still enough to sex. Apart from that my girl has never seemed "lumpy". She is a bit longer than the male and about 30% heavier and fatter.

Also I don't believe that they are illegal to import. I could be wrong about the UK though. It is illegal to export them out of Colombia, which covers most of there native area. Sometimes they get exported out of neighboring countries, which I don't think is illegal. I've seen them on import lists before, so they are available. Or some could still be exported out of Colombia as a unknown eel or a type of fish.

Mine won't touch bloodworms and I don't see how they would make a good food for these guys. Worms and shrimp are the main diet of mine. They are not picky though, cooked ckicken, ham, steak, cheese, calamari, raw salmon, silversides, boiled eggs, they will eat it all. This morning my eels and fish in the 55gal dined on my leftover scrambled eggs.
