Hey,

I posted this in another section but no one ever replies so i thought id put it here too....

I changed my tank around and gave it a really good clean about 10 days ago. To do this i took all of my fish out and put them in a container of the tank water for no more than 10 mins. Since i put them back in they've all settled down well and seem to be liking the new tank except for Ruby my RTBS. She's just hiding between the side of my filter/heater and the side of the tank which is only about half an inch gap so im worried about her getting stuck or something

To stop her hiding there i did move the filter up to the glass but she jumped out of the tank as i was doing it!!! Luckily i managed to get her back in quickly and she seems ok... well, as ok as she was before...

Ive noticed her come out after ive fed the others and turned the light off and she swims around briefly then goes back next to the filter... Ive not noticed her eating anything but she must be at night or she'd be looking ill right? She's looking as healthy as ever, im just a bit worried about her being so shy when she used to be so friendly!

Ive tested the water several times and each time its all been the same as it always has been!!!

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?! Im going to try and coax her out with a few bloodworms but if that doesn't work i dunno what to do... (Didnt work :( )

Hi jess
I'm at aloss as to what to suggest aprt from adding melafix or stresscoat to the water. You could also leave the light of for a day and see if that helps.

Hey,

Yeah.. Ive added melafix and it hasn't helped :( ill leave the lights off tomorrow and see if she comes out otherwise ill just have to wait and see... Ive been putting off doing a water change as not to stress her but im going to have to tomorrow or the waters going to be minging.... Hope she doesn't get upset...

Thanks

Jess

Hi Jess,
If your RTBS is still looking healthy and keeping its colours, I wouldn't worry too much.....my fully grown rtbs hid alot after I segregated him for a while before re-introducing him his "home" tank. He was sulking from what I could tell.......he still ate and kept looking healthy....he just wasn't being himself!!HTH.

She was swimming around this morning! :D She came out when i turned the light on and had some flakes :)

She's gone back into hiding now, but at least i know she's eating something! I shall still keep an eye on her though! She's one of my favourites, id feel awful if she died!
