This is my royal pseudochromis :) Fish_017a.jpg

Pseudochromis Paccagnellae ( Royal dottyback)

Lovley colours, but inch for inch one of the most aggressive dottybacks. IMO inadvisable that you keep it with any placid species. It can also lose its vivid colour if not feed food enriched with vitamins and colour enhancers. Good luck with the little hell raiser ;)

Tylerman am I right in thinking this is you 10g

I hope it is not a 10gal

20gal min to house your Royal Dottyback

And you have a thread below about your new Clark's clown 30gal min for that one.

j/w you dont have much live rock how did your tank cycle so fast, i hope it did or your fish will be on the bottom soon, and the royal dottyback i agreee bad choice the royal gramma is less aggressive and looks the same i like it batter from what ive heard there hardier...

Almost as bad a choice as a foxface or coral catfish for a nano huh?

OK FINE I WONT GO WITH A DANG FOXFACE! but why not a coral catfish, ?? they dnt get big

Sorry to divert a little here, but...

Coral catfish (Plotosus lineatus) grow up to 12" long and are dangerously venemous (and the foxfaces have venomous spines in their dorsal fin as well).

On top of this, the coral cats are a shoaling species that require members of their own species. Not to mention the fact that the catfish being a catfish is going to almost certainly take down members of the clean-up crew.
