Hey everyone ,I have been keeping fish for a while now including plecos .I recently got a Royal Pleco the thing with him is that he always stays in one spot I have drift wood inside and he refuses to eat it or the aglae wafers .All he does is stay on my UV sterilizer .How do I entice him to eat I know zucchini would help but i dont have a piece rn.

How long have you had it?

How big is your tank? You know they grow to 60 centimeters(2 feet) long? They are fast growing, and have an average lifespan of 10 - 15 years in captivity.

All he does is stay on my UV sterilizer
I can't see the point of these.

I have had him for about 3 days all he does is stay the exact same spot . I have him in my 55 Gallon for rn as he grows he will go in to a 180 Gal. I have kept Common plecos and Highfin plecos and never seen them resist eatting driftwood like this Royal Pleco . The temperature of the tank is 74 degrees as its in my turtle tank which needs low temps in water higher temps in basking area.I use UV Sterilizers because its just that i like to think i have something that would aid in killing off parasites but mostly because I like seeing cystal clear water before my water would be clear with a green tint /brownish color because of the driftwood..

oh and i forgot to mention that I am treating the tank with PraziPro since he wasnt the only fish that was recently introduced just to get rid of any parasites . My hospital tanks are currently being occupied by babe leopard Geckos

Never Mind he Loves the driftwood I was looking for him and then I saw him sucking on it up side down he even started to swim around at the bottom

I am boiling some Cucumber for my plecos rn couldnt find zucchini in the store but that will do

silky thing
