Can anyone tell me why my rotala isn’t doing well.
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 10 ppm
gH: 10ppm
kH: 250ppm
pH: 7.5
Temperature: 77 degrees F

It was doing well then seemed to melt from the top but the lower leaves are doing fine
I’m not dosing any fertilizers besides the root tabs under my Crypts and Amazon sword which are doing amazing.
My light is fairly bright but there is driftwood in the tank that darkens it a bit

Dose with iron. Seachems is fine and easy to get. You should see an improvement in 3-7 days.

I have anubias, Java fern, crypts, flame moss, Java moss.
Will the iron affect any of them negatively??

I also have salvinia minima and frogbit.

And I have a little bit of green hair algae growing on some other rotala blood red that’s also not doing well. Will the iron make the algae problem worse? Or help resolve it?

Almost all aquatic plants prefer acidic conditions, if your tank is Alkaline then a lot of plants will struggle to survive.

Yea the acidity has been a constant struggle, I may resort to using peat

Go by the bottle or about 1/2 teaspoon a day then when it gets to where you want to be make it 2-3 times a week.
SHAKE the bottle!

I’ve gotten dosage instructions from the bottle but I can’t find anything online about how often. I’m gonna assume everyday

And I assume I should continue to water change as usual? I do 25% once or twice a week

Potassium is a great nutrient too, especially for anubias so adding this along with iron could make a big difference.
Seachem potassium is dosed at one cap full every 100l,so about three and a half caps will be enough, and dose every 2-3 days,or depending on plant density.

I think I’ll wait on the Potassium for a bit because it’s just a few rotala that aren’t doing well. My anubias is actually not doing too bad

Iron everyday until you get results..then to the 2-3 times a week. Try to dose round midday when the plants take it up much better.

Java and Trident ferns eat potassium. You can make them turn from shabby to lush with potassium, and speed up growth a bit- but they are still slow.

Hey just thought I’d update.
All of my plants look the same since starting the iron. I’m going to continue using it but I’m wondering if I should switch to a complete fertilizer
