Hi All.

Was just wondering if this is normal behavior for Rosyfin tetras, I have 9 rosyfin tetras in my tank 7 females and 2 males.

They are continually chasing each other around in the tank for like a split second know and then.

Luckily they don't nip each others fins.

I only feed them at night, but I changed it this morning might this be the reason for their behavior.

Please Advise.

Thanks.

very normal - they are setting up a hierarchy within the group and will continue to maintain it with similar behaviour.

Okay cool then this is good news, thanks for you info.

Will they be fine if I only feed them at night?

does that mean after the lights are off? Probably better when they are on as tetra prefer to eat from the water column and probably aren't that great at finding food on an unlit substrate.

No not when the lights are off, here at around 20h00 with the lights on.

Will these fishes start chasing around new tank mates?

As these are my only fish in my tank.

I was thinking getting emperor tetras or diamond tetras or lemon tetras or glow lights

Please advise.

they should not be aggressive towards any other fish. Maybe a bit of chasing but unlikely to cause harm.

That is good I want to get 8 Diamond Tetras on the weekend to be housed with the 9 rosy fin tetras I actually want to get 4 more mail rosy fins.

Is this for the squat corner pentagon tank? If so, very bad idea.
