Rose built a bubblenest

My son's CT female Rose has built a bubblenest. She's in a divided with her male sibling and 2 other bettas, but I know she has built it because its over the far side of the tank and couldn't possibly pass through the divider and make a perfect nest shape.

She's guarding it too, how cute

Maybe she's dropping a big hint to Spike that she's full of eggs

I don't know about lesbian bettas, but I read somewhere that some females to bubblenest, and someone did an experiment with a female that tended to bubblenest to let HER raise the babies. It was successful, but the babies weren't as good of quality as when the male tends them. Her bubbles just didn't stick as well as his.

i recently had a spawn were the male lost interest and the female did all the work i must be honest i thought that there was nothing that hatched but left the tank anyway and it has a good 30 babies in it so they do do a good job i think its instinct imagine the male in the wild coming across another and being killed who would look after the nest and as i had took the male out that exactly what she did,......... .........TOLD YOU IT WAS GOING TO RAIN JOBY GET THEM IN A TANK.....

The spawning tank is occupied Bettaman so they'll have to wait their turn

She has still got her nest this morning and guarding it, but they've started up a competition I think as Spike has made 2 now in his section next to her and Cody the HM who is next to Spike has one going too
