I noticed that my ropefish was yawning and puffing up its head. Does anyone know why it is doing this. also my sucking loaches are hopping on the ground. could someone tell me why that is :good:

Ropefish arnt amazingly suffient at their gaseous exchage systems in water, Hence, they have a developed swim bladder which can store and attain useful air ( taken from the surface ) Its "yawning" to get more oxygen over its gills. It doesnt essentially mean that you have a low oxygen level in your tank, just that the fish has less "efficient" gills than typical fish.

If your loaches are "flicking", watch out for signs of ich, or whitespot, maybe do a water test and adjust any problems.
Thanks.
Dan
