I have a 29 galolon tank with 1 of these and some others and i feed him live guppys and frozen mosquto larva. Have u guys heard of this fish or have one. I would like to see what u have to say. Also how big do they get.

if you are talking about Erpetoichthys clabaricus it is an omnivore. While it mainly feeds on small crustaceans, insects, and small fish, it will also sometimes feed on dead organisms and algae or other plant materials. they can reach sizes exceeding 30 inches.

Behavior
Erpetoichthys calabaricus has no defined social system, although they tend to congregate when they are in an aquarium. In terms of behavior, their skill at capturing prey is quite interesting. This species can sense electric cues (from the gills of small crustaceans and fish) in their environment with ampullae (electroreceptors) and use this information for prey capture

I've got 3 in my tank they get meaty foods such as prawns, salmon mussels, cockles and coarse chopped beefheart. I've never heard of them eating plants or algae, but you live and learn. They are predators and will attack even quite large fish in the night, One final point make sure your tank is sealed they will get out of tiny holes I've lost two that way.
