Rope fish

Not with the fish you have listed in your signature (which is too big by the way, could you transfer all the info to your profile please :) ) .

Rope fish are members of the Polypteridae family and are closely related to bichirs sharing their predatory nature, small fish under 4 inches will be eaten at night.

a rope fish would probably eat every fish in that tank except the kribs/lion heads
and i dont think you can get them in Aus :)

I don't think so, I had my ropefish for over a year and when it jumped it was about 13". It couldn't eat anything with a body deeper than half an inch :)

You gotta be kidding ! When so many people can only dream of living in such a beautiful country as Oz ! But I know what you mean - growing up in South Africa meant that I could never get decent tropicals (unless I sold my soul) but now that I'm in the UK I'm having a ball :D

beblondie - i know what you mean....dwarf puffer in UK or US = $5 MAXIMUM
dwarf puffer in Australia = $400 MINIMUM

I think i need to speak to my friend in customs..... :shifty: Se if i cant find out why we cant import. Dd, do u have a link?

Funny story about my old rope.

Well he was a crazy one. Always was swimming into the filter and hiding out in there.

If he was not doing that he was jumping out of the tank onto my floor.

Needless to say he jumped out one day and was crispy on the floor the next day.

I don't think a rope is suitable for a tank like that but its good you took an interest in it, they are stunning fish.
