do silver dollars need to be in groups?

you dont have room for anything, i think you are pretty over-stocked. Also, i am guessing by plc, you mean a pleco. If it is a common pleco it will grow 12 inches or longer. So to answer you questions, no they wouldnt fit. Yes they need to be kept in groups of six or more. You are over-stocked, what you do about it and what fish go are up to you. Good luck

Thanks :good: I know its not a common pleco and the guy at the lfs told me it wouldn't get that big. I think it was a farawello.?

Cool, thas a good thing. I dont know anything about said farawello. Thanks for not taking it personal when i said you were overstocked, some people dont handle that well and get very defensive. Maybe just re-homing some, or until then water changes and good filtration should be OK. Let me know if you find out what kind of plec you got...Good luck.

I don't understand why anyone would get mad. It's constructive criticism. The guy who sold it to me is moving this week to a bigger storeand I've decided to take the columbian and the lemon tetras to my friend.

Awesome, welcome to the forum! I wish more new (and old) members would adopt your attitude. Sounds like a good plan with the fish. Let me know if you ever find out what kind of plec you got. A pic would be helpful as i am sure one of the experts on here will know. C ya around.

I would keep an eye on the farlowella in the present setup as they can easily be outcompeted by greedier more active fish.
And no, silver dollars need a bigger tank, and they are schooling fish and you will absolutely not have room.
