When you buy rocks from the lfs is it OK to just pour boiling water on to clean them and then put them in?

dont think you need to, just put um in what rock r u gettin btw ?

you should washt ehm jsut to be on the safe side. even if they look clean a lot of dust usually comes off when you wash them.

Edit: sorry my typing's so poor, my muym dropped a washign machine on my ahnd.

If you buy them from a lfs I would hope you wouldn't need to put boiling water on them although it wouldn't hurt anything. But at the very least rinsing them off with clean water is a good idea.

Ok who says the LFS didn't go out in the parking lot and pick these rocks up and sale them. Not likely but do you really know where these rocks came from.

I boil rocks for at least 5 minutes before adding them into my tank.
