Rocks N Glass?...

im buying a new 10gallon (40litre) tank, and i want to buy slate from the LFS and make my own arrangement.. but i was wondering if i lent it against the glass wud it scratch it?? and cud n e 1 suggest how cud arrange them?? + does n e 1 think its a waste of time as u have to take ur formation apart every time u clean it?? n e 1 got n e other suggestions for decor??? cheers!

if you check the link in my sig theres a pic of the slate cave i made for my tank... i glued it together with aquarium silicone....

also re-arrangeing your tank every now and then if you have teritorial or aggressive fish in it can help to stop the claiming territorys

cheers, iv already seen it! looks gr8! .. but does n e 1 have n e suggestions about rock formations? wether there good or scratch ur tank.. or are no good as u have to take em down ever time u clean it out?

ive had slate in my tank for 2 months so my 2 plecos can hide and yes it does scratch the inside of the tank
mine is about half an inch away from the glass so it doesnt scratch.

ive just piled slate on top of each other and made a bridge type thing.

you could always make it look like a cichlid tank by piling slate ontop of each other but leave holes so the fish can swim through.
thats what im going to do for my 60gal platy tank

but its simple you just buy the slate and stack it up to what ever design you desire

i think i might just get plants and bogwood as im gonna keep lots of shoaling tetras so they will need space! but do u think jsut bogwood and lots of plants will look nice?

Hey Bigian do you get aquarium silicone at a lfs or where did you get yours becuase that's a good idea and I might try it.

I used silicon on my rocks, but you can just put a blob where its gona lean on the glass to stop it scratching!

yea your LFS should sell it, but shop around as i found a huge variance in price some places were selling it for 3 quid others for a tenner..
