Hi guys, i want to put a couple of pieces of dark granite in the bottom of my tank. I was just wondering about the weight. They are not that heavy and about 8" long by 5" wide. Is there a limit on weight in the bottom of the tank. Thanks for any info.

There isn't really a set limit, but just make sure that whatever your tank is on can take the weight!! lol, and also remember that when you put the rocks in the water level will rise!!

Good luck! :good:

I have had alot of rocks in my tank and have never had any problems but my substrate is probably around 2 inches deep which should help disperse weight a bit more rather than it be concentrated to one point. Ensure any rock arrangements are safe for your fish. :)

good luck! :good:

I am thinking about rocks(alot of rocks in mine) im going for sand but only 2cm think i read that alot of marine users put eggcrate dwn 1st to spread the weight

egg crate works great i have loads of rock in a malawi setup
