Hello

I have got 4 rocks from the river-side are they safe I have brushed the mud off and scubbed with a wire brush asnd everything put boiling water over them now what?

I am worried about when I put my heveyest rock in it might brake my under-gravle filter because it is plastic is it worth it?

Its an at your own risk type situation. IF you do use them boil them several hours (depending on how big the rock is) . Some have come up with the valid point that u never know what may leech out of the rock or that is possible to NOT kill some things (spores, toxins etc) with boiling water. So its up to you, but ya have to do more than just pour boiling water over the rock. Ya must physically boil it for quite some time.

If you want to put it in go for it. I doubt it break the UGF, but I could be wrong. UGF are a peice of garbage IMO.

frank333 UGF are grbagge yeh Soon as I got it I rellised it was pointless but never mindLike you say its at my own risk I will take alook at the rock now.

I have put some pebbles in befor tho from the same place.

put some vinegar on them aswell to test if they are not limestone or sandstone or whatever. If the vinegar fizzes or bubles up then don't use the rocks. Sorry if you already know this

try using vinegar then cleaning it off again. I wouldn't think there would be a problem with anything here. Were there any holes in the rock, or was it completely smooth? it is really up to you, but it is a risk.
