Rocket Gar?

i cant find much on these you need a scientific name
all i have read is they are not true gars but actually a kind of tetra
and they get to around 12" but im not sure how accurate this info is

rocket gar-Ctenolucius'' hujeta Gar'' characin (Ctenolucius hujeta)south

They get around 28 inches in the WILD, but around 6-13 inches in a normal aquaria. Extremely slow growers, easy to train to frozen and freeze-dried foods, very skittish when first bought, etc.

Need to know anything specific just post it :p.

Not much info except we bought one on impulse. It soon cleared the tank of all the smaller fish and then started eating fish 3/4 it's own size. How it managed this i don't know as it looked at bursting point after eating them.Ours grew quickly probably because of it's diet.We ended up taking it back to the shop.It seemed shy and liked to hide in floating plants but was very predatory.

just got one of these last monday i think it was, seems ok, not touched my 3" glass catfish, but there seems to be a little thing going on between it and my bichir (as both like to sit in the floating plants), thinl most other things in there should be ok as he is the 3'rd smallest (glass catfish being 1st and 2nd) just wondering how long it will take to get them onto the frozzen food as not seemed to be eating (well not that i have seen), hmmm

lovely fish though
