Rock Shrimp?

Saw 2 'rock shrimp' in P@H yesterday for £4.95 each but they looked more like giant cherry shrimp, quite red really. Any ideas what they might be?

Did you see any fans? I've heard rock being used as a name for Atya molluccensis, the bamboo/fan shrimp.

No fans and only about 1-2" in size

Did it have long front claws? Most dwarf shrimp only reach an inch, so it could be a Macrobrachium species.

Not if they're machro. uglyyyy things when they've grown up a bit.

It would have been very obvious if they were M. sp so it likely wasn't them.

Hmm... A few species come to mind but they are rarely imported to the US and the USA, and definately not by P@H.

They should be safe for your tank, I'd give it a shot. Post some pics! Everyone love to look at shrimp.
