does the vinegar test aply for african cichlids

and

i might just ask this here as well rock looks a little rusty is that ok to use?

and

is a lttle tiny bit of cement going to heurt anything i've gotten as much off the rocks as i could

The vinigar test doesn't work for Rift Lake Africans because the elements that can make it fizz can actually be good for the PH, acting as a buffer.

Rust and cement are both better off avoided I would think.
