question is..
I'm building up 2 my salt tank.. 80 gallon.. US
how do i ready the water...
I figured out most of it.. only question is.. after i put the water in my large garbage can.. add the salt mixture... how do i get the PH up around 8.2+? whats the procedure? my RO water comes out at very low PH 5ish maybe? i cant even get a reading.. my tests at 6.0 goes from yellow to yellow i cant even tell.. my guess is maybe 5... how do i get it up 2 8.2? only with RO right?

The salt mix will raise your pH to the proper level, no need to remineralize using RO Right or similar products.

Yeah, he's right. Because of the low ionic concentration you can't really measure the pH of RO water. It can fluctuate WILDLY from test to test. Mix up the salt and test that for pH ;)

Also, be prepared for your saltwater to be 7.8-8.0ph not 8.2. pH is a complicated topic, but suffice it to say, its not really that bad of a thing for your tank to start out with a low pH. As you learn more about chemistry you can decide if you need to do anything to alter it. In the beginning just make sure its not 7 or 9 ;)
