I've been using RO water from my local shop in my aquarium for years now, and never had any problems. However, this does involve me shifting large quantities of water about, at a cost of about £10 per month.

I can now buy an RO machine from them at £118, which will save me a lot of time and effort.

Has anyone ever owned one of these machines? Are they pretty straightforward, and do they need recharging or additional media added regularly?

Thanks,
Bob.

I run an R.O and they are plain sailing. all you need to do is fit the saddle valve onto the copper pipe and the waste saddle on to the drain, stick the good water outlet into a storage container and you are up and running.

you don't re-charge them but you will need to replace the pre-filter and the carbon (if it has one) every 6 months. (and the carbon every year).

Cheers!

I bought the RO machine at the weekend. After some initial problems getting the saddle onto my pipes, it's all now up and running. It's not quick, but it's producing enough for me!
