Hey everybody!

Finally got my 4-stage 50 Gallon a day RO Unit plumbed in and working! :D Just one question..
is it meant to be really slow at producing water? It just seems to trickle :/ I'm guessing it's not meant to shoot out like a tap does but just wandered if this was right?

cheers
:good:

Yeah, your RO discharge should be a very slow trickle with a 50GPD. Whats the TDS of the RO discharge? If the TDS is high and the flowrate is low you probably need to flush the membrane :)

I haven't flushed the membrane yet no! Will do that for about an hour (as it says in the manual) later on! I keep reading TDS this and TDS that.. what is TDS?

Cheers

Total Disolved Solids, i think. The amount of metals/minerals etc in the water

Correct! :good: You need a TDS meter to read it, or if youve got one "inline" but you would have discovered that already if you have, or its mentioned in either the instruction manual or the page online where you bought it.

You can buy them form ebay, online, your LFS, or dont worry for a while like me which is naughty! :shifty:

Yeah, TDS meters are cheap too :). A good TDS is below 10ppm. Above that and the membrane definitely needs flushing. And if a couple years from now flushing wont fix the TDS, it needs replacing :good:
