Hi

This morning my angelfishes fin was ripped. Is this normal? The LFS said it was as they can get caught, and sometimes he lies against the filter so he could have got caught in this..but I dont know..

What does fin rot look like?

thanks

There is another angelfish and 4 platies. 2 clown loach and a common plec

sometimes the other angelfish nips him, but its quite a long rip down the fin.

I was worried about fin rot because some of the other fish have ich

WOULD A PICTURE HELP?? I CAN POST ONE LATER

Usually a long rip indicates that the fin was caught on a tank decoration or a sharp edge of a rock or something along those line. Finrot usually appears as very ragged looking fins starting at the ooutside edge and working in the base of the fins. So what type of decor do you have in the tank? Filter, rocks etc.

there is a corner filter which is sometimes lies against..may have got caught in that..no rocks but there are some decorations..a barrel with holes in that they swim through and part of a castle

How do you add a picture?..I took one of the fin
