Well, these ARE fish pictures, but they're not my aquarium (I WISH! ;)) so I don't think they belong in the "Members Aquariums" photo forum. Anyway, these are just a teaser.... I have a LOT of pics that I need to process once I get back in town on Monday. I'll run them through NeatImage and cut down on some of the high ISO noise. In the meantime....

Nice shots.
I really like the way that aquarium is laid out. The tube so the sharks swim above you is really neat.
I have not been there in around 4 years. I'd like to get back there soon.

awesome pics!
wow you actually get to pat the stingrays! i try to touch wild stingrays when i go snorkelling but they are too fast lol. and i dont really like going too close to their tails

Yeah. There are some bonnethead sharks in that tank too. They're awesome as well, but not as sociable. If you hold your hand out, the rays will come toward you and let you touch them.... the sharks, not so much. If they swim by and you pet them, they don't mind.... but they're not gonna come by voluntarily :) Either one is just amazing to feel.... so smooth and sleek.

It's a pretty cool display for the rays. They have an area up top that's about 1 1/2 ft deep where they come up on the flats and you can lay down and touch them. It's probably about 300 sq ft, lots of room. Then, it drops off into the main viewing part of the tank. They have dive shows there every other hour and a diver goes in and feeds them. It's amazing to watch those guys eat.... little vacuum cleaners :)

Those are some amazing pics!!!
I love rays, wish I had the knowledge and the space for a tank for those guys!
Amazing shark pic! :hyper:

that red-tailed cat looks enormous, I'm guessing the picture doesn't do it justice?
Everyone should save that picture and post it whenever someone asked if they can keep one in (insert tank size here)

Awesome pictures! I love the shark

That RTC is a small one... but the picture still doesn't do it justice. It's probably around 3' long.... and I've seen one at a local fish store that's gotta be bigger than that one is.

The real one people need to see before doing something stupid is the size of the Pacu that they had in the tank. Good god almighty, those things are big. Unfortunately, I don't think any of my pics of them turned out well. One of those things next to an Oscar and a Peacock Bass made the Oscar look like a guppy and the Peacock look like a Platy. Just a HUGE fish!

ripleys is the most awesome aquarium i have been to yet. (even better than monterey)
i think occasionally they have sleep-overs there for school kids. that would be so awesome to sleep in the shark tunnels :)
if only my house could be like that someday...

heres a pic i got of a shark swimming over me. :D
