something has happened in my betta tank.

First it was asterix, who died with no symptoms, then yesterday Spikey and Oscar looked really unwell. I had no meds in the house so i put in Rock Salt to slwly kill the bacteria and help Oscars fins.

Overnight Sparkle and Oscar died. Sparkle looked fine to me, he was his normal self.
When i took sparkle out of the tank, his fins were all ripped like threads.

I have just come back from 2 fish shops and none of them had Myaxzin (SP?) They had to order it in which would have took a week.

ATM, Cameo is looking well. I cant believe this. Spikey is gasping for air now too, he is dying :(

I think this is why people reccommend putting new fish in QT.

Some pictures of Sparkle, when he had passed, his fins look sore, and he had something white on him too.

i feel sick :( I only have 1 betta left out of 6 :(

So am i, i cant believe it. i dont think i will be buying anymore. There i was thinking i was lucky because i found a CT and got offered a rescue betta too

Spikey has just passed away now aswell, he could get up to the surface to breathe. I only have Cameo (mermaidMels rescue) now :(

I will defos not be doing a divided tank again. If do keep male bettas again they will have there own tanks. Its too much hassle. I HATE LOSING FISH!

 -_-

Im so so sorry for your loss :(

the picture looks like columnaris :\

you might want to move cameo somewhere else until the tank is disinfected
:(

hmm, some people are saying fin rot, some saying TB, and some saying Columnaris.

 I dont know what it is, but yeh, im going to move Cameo into a shallow container and i will break down the tank, and chuck away filter media and completly dis-infect everything.

:good:

whatever happened one thing is for certain. highly contagious! you are doing the best thing by stripping everything and washing it. use bleach to disinfect, rinse really well and let thoroughly airdry. bleach kills everything! and once it is dry, all the chemical evaporates. just be sure it is pure bleach and not containing soap or fragrances. dilute with water 10 parts water. one part bleach (a good strong solution). then rinse well with tap water and let airdry.
so sorry :( truly upsetting for you im sure.
cheers

Seems "Asterix" Must of brang the infection to your tank..

Its a shame :/

Next time either buy single 3gallons or
Buy a Q/T for them?

thanks :look:
Cameo looks like hes not to good now too. he is in isolation. The tank will be stripped down tommorrow.
