I haven't been on the site for a while, but my cat Moll was run over last night, and I want to say somewhere how special she was, everyone I know just says "it's only a cat".
Had her from4 weeks, it was either us or be drowned, and she was always so loving and curious, even if we were hoovering or mowing the grass, she'd be right with us, and when my baby was born, she was always at the end of the cot, keeping a watchful eye.
Anyway, people keep looking at me as though I'm crazy, so hopefully anyone reading this will understand!

Of course we understand, Mollie was your companion not "just a cat". I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
:rip:

Hya - so sorry to hear of your loss. Not so long ago my little queen Bengal was run over right in front of me as I called her in for tea. If that person was doing the speed limit....if I hadn't called her....if, if, if. she was only a baby. It's a terrible thing and your little Mollie looked absolutely gorgous. We all have our own way of dealing with the loss of a pet but one thing's for certain - it never gets easier does it? Hope it gets easier soon.

Thanks for your kind words, it's good to know that people do understand.
Flagfin, that must have been horrible for you, I'm so sorry.
I'm a bit worried about my other cat, Toby, he has been mewing all day. (we rescued him abt 2 weeks before moll, and they've been together for the last 6 years) I know that people say to let the surviving cat see the body, but my boyfriend buried her so our little girl wouldn't see.
Don't suppose anyone has any tips on comforting pining cats? He's sitting peering through the catflap at the moment, poor little thing.

I've had that happen with mine, just give him lots of attention, and allow him the time to get used to her not being there. It takes awhile, but he to will learn to live with her loss.

he will come around in time.
my friend used to have 2 cats (sisters) and a dog. One of the cats got ran over, and it wasnt too long before the other cat and the dog were best friends!
