Rip Dexter-roo The Rat :(

I've been so busy today with the snails that I missed Dex's (natural) passing.

Dex was one of our really oldies, and hasn't been himself since Otis died (our very oldest who was his bestest mate).

I'm sat here blubbing like an idiot, it's not like I didn't expect it, but he's been here for well over 2 years now and he was one of the first of this lot.

I don't believe in the afterlife, but I'd like to think if there was one, he'd be up with Ote-So-Simple right now in a pissy hammock (those two were the Wurzel Gummidges of the rat world, right mingers *lol*) sharing a tin of sardines in tomato sauce - their fave.

And as a baby:

Yeah, not too much in adulthood, but it's great for kittens or as a treat (high protein so not cracking in large amounts for elderly rats).

RIP dexter-roo. I've had a few rats in my time and when they passed I blubbed like a baby!!! Nothing to be ashamed of.
