Hi Guys, I have a Rio 180 which I got about 8 years ago! Amazed it has lasted this long TBH. I always had problems with condensation and every so often would have to remove the light unit for it to dry. I came back from my holidays and I thought it had done it again but now it wont keep the lights on more than a few seconds. My tank had major issues because of it, so I need to fix is ASAP!!

Also I have noticed that the top of the light unit has a raised lump like it melted upwards, if that makes sense. Could this be why the light doesnt work? I can't get into the unit to investigate as it looks sealed.

I expect you've heard of this problem before but I need help please!!

Thank you so much! Kim

the sticky at the top of this DIY section has a topic written about fixing the juwel light bar, maybe that would be of some help to you?

Good luck

+1. Somthing has burnt out inside your unit. The DIY fix is doable but difficult. I have done it & it is a long process (I am an electrician).

Depending on your electrical confidence you may have to buy a new unit.
