I noticed last night that the front and back of my tank in the middle is bowing slightly.

It looks like it's about 2-3 mm each side. I've got the standard lighting unit with standard flaps.

I took a picture of the front and back this morning.

Any ideas?

I got the tank second hand, so I can't return it.

Is the brace that runs accross the middle of the tank intact? Is the frame around the top of the tank intact?

The bracing bar seems intact, no visible signs of cracks etc. (I saw the other posts about the bar cracked).

The frame looks fine too.

Interesting! I'm not sure how it can bow like that with the brace still there...my only suggestion was going to be to to repair it with something really strong like gorilla glue but now I've got nothing lol - I hope someone else will be able to help :)

Once I get home from work today, I'll take a closer look at the bar, and get some pictures of it.

From memory though, I don't think it's attached to the glass at the bottom of it.

mines been like it for years, nothing is cracked an its worse than your one. so dont think much to worry about :)

With a brace bar it shouldnt bow, got a pic pf the brace?

I've just taken a bunch of pictures of the brace bar and where it connects to the front and rear of the tank and put them on imgur.

It appears that the bar doesn't connect to the tank, I see some sort of remains of possibly sealant here? Is it meant to attach?

Also, at the front, I can see that the 'wooden' frame is bending inwards as if it's being pulled by the brace bar.
