Ridiculous Restrictions On Time

Im getting more and more frustrated with this forum, becuase of the delays on everything, why is there delays on pm's, posts and topic creating???

It seems so stupid to me, there are many good people on this forum trying to help one another, and no.... WAIT 30 SECONDS.

I, and im sure, have many other people, got only a little time to spend each day, looking through the forum, i havnt got time to wait for these awful delays, i just want to try and help people and learn a little, is that too much to ask?

I'm not the only one who uses other forums as well as this one to gain a better understanding of this hobby, but while i see others thrive, this one seems to be going down hill with these types of restrictions, and filters to block out words that not even swears

is anyone at hand to explain to us all, why?

it`s because of that horrible porn spamming incident a while back Adam( wasnt pretty i can tell you)..and i assume the time thing on PM`s is for the same reason ( spamming)
yes it`s frustrating and we all feel for you.. but if it keeps the "bots" out then so be it

oh and yes the swear filter.. i nearly got a rollocking the other day for saying an everyday ( to me) word.. certainly didnt consider it to be profound

fair point shelagh, but, lets be honest, this is a fish forum, its not going to be on the top 10 hit list for Al-kaeda is it, what would be more appropriate is for everything to go to how it was, to show whoever did it in the first place that this forum isnt easily swayed by such occurances.

.. "they" dont give a rats wether or not we are swayed ( as a forum).. as you put it.. i however do give a munkeys about what pages i open and what external links i click on while my children maybe present and what is availible for the youngsters that use the forum to view
i think based on that arguement alone.. the delay is a great idea and should stay

30 seconds is nouthing , a few car forums i go on have rstrictions of a 1min , same with searching for new posts too. this site is very unrestricted that way to be honest, it can be annoying, but when i think about it, there isent that much of a rush needed

I'm sure you can wait the whole thirty seconds or so between posts... It's not like it's thirty minutes.

It's there for a good reason, spam comes on a scale and although generally it's the dull, boring 'buy cheap trainers from Outer Mongolia!', but the more recent ones were most definitely at the extreme end of the scale. The mods can't be online all the time, but a time limit between posts makes it much more likely that the posts can be dealt with before too much of a problem is caused.

Honestly my friend, if a 30 second wait is aggravating you this much, you need to to switch off the computer and take the dog for a walk. Visit a second-hand bookshop. Maybe potter around the garden for half an hour, pulling up weeds. Anything.

Life is meant to be enjoyed slowly. Like good food, wine, and dare I say it, love.

People who worry about what can happen in 30 second increments end up having heart attacks.

Adam just think about it like this does your tank cycle in 30 seconds?No it takes weeks, Does your fish drop or spawn every 30 seconds know it takes months even sometimes years.Do your water tests take 30 second,well some do actually,but my point is I am sure you are into the avocation of fish keeping,so I think you should take 30 seconds,as a gift from the fish world
