Hi, I'm wondering what are the best places in the tank for riccia to grow, and the fertiliser and light requirements?

I don't really have an expert opinion on this but judging from my personal experience, they do best floating, close to the light. The problem with them is that hair algae really likes to violate them.

They grow like a pest floating

The best place to grow it is in a plastic storage container with slow water movement, light and fertiliser. In an aquarium there is usually too much water movement and it gets ripped apart and ends up everywhere.

I am having success (that is, it grows despite whatever I do) in floating corrals at the top of my aquaria; corrals are made of loops of plastic hose, tethered to the side of the tank. Some fish munch on it, other browse for goodies amongst them. I clean it often to avoid clumps of debris which give a dirty look, as well as BGAlgae which often infects it, but can be picked out regularly.
