just bought a couple of female ribbon fin guppies from a lfs i hope the fry from them will breed true.

They were in with ribbon fin males the males. but are no good for breeding gonopodiums way to long to breed with.
chances are the breeder may have breed them with a normal ribbon fin male or breed them with a ordinary male to stop them breeding true I just got to wait and see what the fry turn out like

if none of the fry show the ribbon gene they will stall carry it.

Cross a son with the mum and you should then get some ribbon's.
Then once you have ribbon females from the backcross then you cross them with a F1 male carrying the gene and you get 75% ribbon's.

i finely got fry from ribbon fins lol.
got 2 colour types and so far 7 ribbon fins out of 20
