Does anyone currently use a RO unit? I dont really see the benefit because you have to let the water sit in the tank to dechlorinate anyway. Are they used in a way that you attach them to the sink where you get water for your fish and you can use tap water into the tank right away? :S

RO gives out PURE WATER. Nothing else, no chlorine, no chloramine, no nitrate, NOTHING. 100% h2O. However, i don't have one myself, so i cant speak for the rest.

just to clarify, i was wondering about the actual function of the RO unit, its effectiveness and if anyone currently uses one and how they like it.

right ok... in short. reverse omosis water like already said is totally pure water.

its free of all impurities. although it will also take out all mineral content. There is basically no kH either this is why you need to add an ro ajuster to replace what is actually needed.

Ideal for keeping Discus and some marine and anything else where zero nitrates are prefered or you have terrible water.

do you really want to know how it works? its pretty boring.

If yopu want to save money and not buy an ro unit just move to stockport, manchester.
Me n K-holed get these readings on our tap water...
