I was wondering if there was such a thing as a Canadian Fish dealer that you could purchase from over the net and have them sent to your home. There are tons in the US and the UK, but what about Canada?!??! WE DESERVE THEM TOO! :byebye:

I am considering adding a power head to my 33 gallon to increase the flow in my tank. Would I be better off just adding a powerhead, or adding a Fluval type filter to getting the additional filtration?
How much noise is produced by either one?

Thanks.

anyone want to start one with me?
 :kana:
Let me know if anyone finds one!

i think there's one in thunderbay, mabye called thunderbay reef or something like that, will look for a link and post if i find it.

Here's a link to a site located in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory:

http://www.thefishnet.ca/

Their website is still under construction, but it looks like they will be selling tropical fish by mail order.

If anyone has, or gets, additional information, please let me know what you find out. If it turns out to be a good company, I'd like to recommend it to other members in the future. :D

both are silent when used underwater. the only time they may become noisy is if the impeller starts wearing out. I would go for the fluval as this will give you more filtration but if you have a good enough filter already, then you should be fine with just another powerhead.

ditto what Ste said :)

I use Fluval's on my nano-reef tank instead of powerheads and it works fine. It gives you the option to add special filtration such as carbon, etc. when needed which a powerhead doesn't. I was having a bit of a problem with red algae so I added a pouch of nitrate absorbing resin to my Fluval and this morning it is almost all gone.

One thing I would mention is that although I have had a good experience with Fluval some on here have been less lucky and recommend the Eheim cannister filters instead. It may be worth having a look and making your own choices.

There's this one in montreal that has a pretty big selection but not sure if they sell to private buyers or to the wholesale market only.

I've been meaning to e-mail them but I haven't had a chance yet.

Below Water

I'll let you know or you let me know if you get there before me. ;)

I live in Montreal, so if they do, that would be a godsend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, maybe i could get a job with them?

Keep the links coming, it's time us Canadians unite! Damn US and UK think that they have the monopoly on fish!

http://www.jlaquatics.com/

This one is a west coast canadian mail order... only thing is... it's marine. But I was reading their "policy" and they seem to be very conscientious about what kind of marine fish they sell.

Now if only I could find a place that sells tropicals and such as well!

i think theres one in cambridge ont and in brantford ont thats where i get my fish

Thanks tdins_2 however if you have the link that would be even better, then we can all get our fish from their!
