hey guys,

well, I bought 2 angel fishes a while back because I thought mines was all alone, but I tried looking for another silver one like mines, but there were none, so I bought these 2 multi-coloured ones,

here are the three.

Now the problem being is that one of the yellow ones, follows both all the time and opens hes mouth, like to bite the fins. And then theres the other yellow one that only does it to the silver angel, and then the silver angel doesent doit to no one.

Today I found out my silver angels fins, the top one was broken, and I wonder why. Looks as if they did it, so they are in the other tank and the silver it's on it's own again.

I dont really think this is normal?.

They doit all day long, bulling my silver angel. Should I take them back to the lfs ? and try and find another silver one if they have one?

thanks for any help, I really apreciate it! :(

I haven't really found any difference in temperment between the Koi and golden types and regular silver striped Angels, they all have their own personality. I would keep an eye on them, but bullying situations like this turn around quite rapidly sometimes and the bullier becomes the bullied before he knows it!

How big is the tank? I would plan on keeping a pair in a 50G, three is usually a bad number because there will always be a weaker fish that will get bullied, but if there are more angels, there are more targets. They need plenty of space to keep to themselves and cover like bogwood and plants.

Bringing them back is up to you, but I almpst brought my first pair back after they fought like dogs, but once a pecking order was established and everyone knew their place, it calmed down considerably.

If the temp is higher than 25C, try lowering it to 25, it slows them down effectively...

hey ken thanks for the help.

The tank they were in is pretty planted so there are plenty of hiding spots. The angles themselves are only young still, tiny. But I think I hd to many angels on that aquarium.

The plated tank where they were is 18 gallons, and planted. The other aquarium is 60 gallons or just abouts there.

So I guess it was to small for the angels to be all together in such a small space, hence they might be all crazy seen each other all the time ?

It's wierd because my lfs has the most amazing amazon tank with 5 angels, all different sizes, all the same type (the black angel ones) but they are all swimming still next to each other. As for mines they dont stop bulling each other!.

I thought mines were going to be like that, but they turned to be more active than the rest of the bunch in the aquarium lol.

Oh well, I might give the 2 koi's (if thats them) back and try and get another silver one and put them both in my 60gallon, that would be alot better for the angels sake init ?.

Thanks for the great help ken!

Thread restored from ghosts!

they are ghosts here ?? :X

Since btw the angels have been separated, the 2 koi's are in the 180L tank and the other angel is on the planted 70 litre tank. They are all much better now.
