hi, guys,

i got a pleco a few days ago, sorry i don't remember its' name, but it's one of the dwarf guys. he sticks to the glass aall the time. i rarely see him on the gravel or rocks or wood. i don't have much to graze upon on the glass, and i see him sliding down from it a lot too. basically, he is swimming restessly around the walls of the tank and doesn't seem to know where to land. i have nooo idea what's wrong with him.

i have 2 corys and they r doing great on the gravel, so i don't think it's the sharpness of the gravel. i do have plants, and caves, and wood, and rock... my water parameters are all good, other fish are doing fine. he's just swimming and swimming and swimming around the walls of the tank. he looks so uncomfy and stressed. i'm going to take him back if this continues on, i don't wanna cause him more stress.

on that note, i did have a farlowela for a few days (i had to take it back because i realized it was too big for my 20 gal tall tank), but for the time being it never accted this way. It was all around my wood and plants, and only occasionally stick on walls.

i mean, it gives me a headache watching him swim so much around (one corner mostly). even my danios don't swim that fast and so much and all day and night long...

u guys get the picture. what's going on?.. he doesn't even go around my caves, rocks, plants, etc..

here is the pic of him. hope that helps!

BTW, he doesn't sit on the rock very often, idk how i got this shot lol

huh, actually he's sitting on a dif rock now. mmmmm strange 05282011083 (2).jpg

PS: oh wow, sorry about pic quality, my phone sucks at taking pics. but u can probably see his coloration. he doesn't have round spots like many of them do, more like smudged, deformed spots of all kinds... his tail seven looks like he has some sorf of stripes, but that could just be those deformed spots.

looks like a pitbull plec to me. they like to be in groups, if you can get another couple, might make him feel a bit more comfortable.

mmm, really? i only got a 20 gal. and i plan to add another one or couple of corys for a total of 3,4. and its a tall tank too, around 21 inches in length. i thought 1 pleco would be perfect. but what do u think? might be too much if id have 7 bottom-level fishes, no?

i'd say one more would be ok, they dont get very big, only 4 or 5 inches if that. if you're tank is tall, get some taller bits of wood or decor, my plec very rarely sit ont eh substrate, instead choosing to lounge on plants or wood, so techincally not taking up room on the bottom.
