Rest In Peace Bilbo

Sadly, my betta fish, Bilbo, passed away today. I believe he got sick from the harlequin rasboras added to the tank. Immediately after getting the rasboras, three rasboras and a Cory died, and now Bilbo. The Cory had obvious popeye, but the others show no symptoms... Bilbo will be missed.

I didn’t get a chance. They just died without any symptoms. The water is perfect. Ph is 7.5 ammonia is zero, nitrates and nitrites are zero.

yeah i think bettas tend to be a tad bit weaker in high ph waters. sorry for your loss

So sorry to hear about your loss. Quarantining new fish in the future would help prevent getting disease or parasites into your community aquarium. If nothing else you can setup a plastic container to use as a temporary quarantine tank for your new fish. You would need a heater, an air pump, and some type of filter that would help keep it clean, a sponge filter would work.
