Awhile ago my husband and I were at Wal-Mart looking at their fish, mostly shaking our head at their treatment of them, when we spotted two white female guppys in with the small comets. They were marked as Rosy Minnows. Also they were both very pregnant. We couldn't leave them their to give birth in that over crowded tank, or taken by someone who didn't know what they were and kept in a coldwater tank. So we bought them at .26 cents a piece, brought them home and put them in our nursery tank.

Well I am not happy to announce that one has birthed some fry. I see two so far. No bigger then half my pinky nail. They are white just like their momma. When they are big enough to photograph I will post up some pictures. :good:

Did you mean to say you are not happy to announce? Otherwise you wouldnt have bought the obviously pregnant fish. I think you mean now

Are you sure they are guppies? They might be mosquitofish which are often mixed with the red rosies and goldfish more than the guppies do. Please put a pic of the momma too.

DO NOT EVER BUY FISH FROM WAL-MART!!!!! THEY ARE ALMOST ALWAYS SICK! oh and dont u mean that u r happy to announce? why would u buy them if u ah-biously knew they were pregnant but didnt want fry? confusing to me..... But i suggest buying fish from petco or petsmart. they hav very good fish.

I don't usually buy fish from Walmart but if I see the mosquitofish in their tanks I would save them from the death tank as they are much hardier than feeder goldfish. I still have 7 "WalMart" mosquitofish from last Christmas and they grew much bigger and much better. If I were bet which species would be last fish in their care at Walmart, I would go with mosquitofish.

yeah mosquitofish are very hardy... they can live in soda bottles! those r one of the best (and easiest) fish you could hav.
