Found these guys in an 2 gallon Hexafun tank yesterday
So they came home with me
Currently in a 12 gallon (so not much of an improvement) and we're negotiating with one of my philosophy lecturers for a second hand 66 gallon tank with stand and mature filter. Even if we can't get that then we're likely to be sending them to a forum friend who has a 450 litre fancy goldfish tank.
At the moment they just have a box filter as I had to throw something biologically mature into the tank. It's keeping the ammonia and nitrites down so it'll do for now. If we get the big tank it'll come with a massive external filter so I'm not worrying.
The veiltail is Merry and the black moor is called Pippin. I've always wanted a black moor but my boyfriend stole Pippin off me. He said he was really cute and then did the puppy noises and pouty lip thing, so of course I said Pippin could be 'his'. I'm clearly a soft touch.
Pip has massive eyes - much larger than 'breed standard' for his type. They're both about 9 months old and about 2 inches long. Stunted? Or just young? Unfortunately I couldn't get a decent photo of Pip.
