Hi

I have a fully cycled tank that I am going to put three Dwarf Puffers into. It is a 16G ish tank so I think it should be acceptable in size. It is the tank I used to have as my main community tank untilI bought a 55G one some weeks ago. SInce that has been used I have kept it cycled by adding ammonia every day and monitoring.

I am assuming the procedure for now reintroducing fish would be the same as fishless cycle ie 100% water change then off we go. However I want to change the substrate for the puffers and move pnats/ decor around which would take a little longer. I was thinking of taking the internal filter out and running it imy 55G while I do this. Its that a wise idea or should I just turn it off and get on wtih it?

You would probably be best putting it in your 55g while you change the 16g yes, just to help the bacteria recieve oxygen and not dry out. Good luck with the new tank and be sure to post some pics of your puffers. :D

Cheers for that! I thought that was the sensible way forward.

Every time I take photos of my fish, they move a little quickly! Any tips?
