When should you move a red-ear slider to an outdoor pond? I am thinking of doing it now (it's about 65-70 during the day here), but am not sure if it is a good time or if I should wait until spring. I'm assuming that since the goldfish out there are ok that he will be, too, over the winter. I know they live in the wild here, so surely he'd be ok? A handful of times during the winter the surface of the pond will get a thin sheet of ice over it, but I always just break it up that morning. It's a 125g pond and I will be moving his basking deck out there as well as stretching netting over it to keep any predators out.
Any advice?
Thanks!!

Wait until spring. At this time of the year, red-eared sliders in the wild are hibernating at the bottom of their ponds :good: .
