Can you use a tank that was once used to keep reptiles as a fish tank?

edit: to clarify I mean that if the tank was originally made for fish and a reptile was housed in it, would it be safe (disease free) to put fish in?

1 part bleach to 20 parts water for sterilizing, rinse well afterwards, and let it dry.

Hi jackel931 :)

Yes, you can use it provided it is cleaned thoroughly and sterilized (with chlorine bleach) as Tolak recommended. I've cleaned and used some sort of reptile or small critter tank myself. It was nasty looking when I got it, but it cleaned up well.

Yeah i had a corn snake in one of my old tanks before it was a fish tank. Just cleaned it out and everything was fine

Is there not a risk of the glass being too thin? I was under the impression that those tanks werent made to hold large amounts of water....

If I were you, I'd sterilize it...Then fill it up and let it sit overnight in your bathtub to see if it leaks. If not, then you're in luck. But, not all reptile tanks will be water proof, so it's always best to check them before you set them up.... you don't want to go thru the trouble of cleaning umpteen gallons of water from your floor.
