Hi all, just bought me a little 18" tank :)

I just want to remove the condensation tray bars which are siliconed to length of the tank, they are not bracing bars.

I have tried cutting it off with a razorblade but it doesnt seem to be strong enough. Is there a prodcut i can buy in the UK which will dissolve the silicone? or does anyone else have any past experience with its removal?

The photo is a bit blue :/

Any comments would be most appreciated, many thanks :)

I would be a bit wary about using a product that dissolves sillicon as this would disolve the sillicon you want if it got spilt or splashed. Are you sure that they are just there to hold the tray and not as a bracing as well? I would say to try a sharper and or stronger blade and be very careful.

Get a new single edged razor blade or 2 & a pair of vise grips. The closer the jaws of the vise grips are to the blade, the less give the blade has. It's a lot easier holding on to a pair of pliers than a skinny razor blade, and safer.
