I have a large tank, ...almost 1000ltrs and 4 T5 lights. Due to having mixed cichlids and oddballs I cannot have real plants and therefore stick with high grade silk plants. Unfortunately, after a while, they start getting green algae growing on them, I just wondered how you deal with cleaning such plants and whether anyone has found a special way of doing it? I have spent around £110 on the plants, due in part to the size of the tank and do not really want to be replacing them every other month or so.

thanks for responding spooky, unfortunately the link failed.

I am not sure if there is a cure for this problem, algae is a pain. I get it on the front glass, and just have to clean every 5 days thereof. Ive reduced the light times etc but not a whole lot works to get rid of it.
