removal of silicone

I've just got hold of a juwel 120 and stand on the cheep .The guy who owned it had put the juwel rubber backing on with not much success. Masses of silicone l8er,he gave up and sold me the tank and stand (cheap lol)
Ive scraped most of the silicone off with a blade but am left with a lot of thin smears across the back glass. Is there a silicone remover thats ok to use or am i condemed to use the rubber stuff

I would stick to the rubber stuff, unless you can find an inert Silicone dissolver, which I don't think exists

I think I saw a solvent that can breakdown silicone and other crap. Ill go back to walmart. I know i saw something...

scotch brite and vinigar worked very well on my tank.
