I went by to my lfs last week and checked out the stock of femmies. It was a shocker! There are at LEAST 30 cups of females there and of which at LEAST 20 were covered in fungus, had columnaris, ich, rotting fins and face, or dead. It was very terrible. Once I saw that I wanted to leave... then this one little shiny girl caught my eye. She had some "thing" too but it didn't look half as bad in condition as the other girls so I paid for her and left.
She was really pale at first but the copper scales was what got my attention. And the "thing" was a few protruding scales(no dropsys) in one area with some reddish/white flesh underneath as if it was a tumor that arose. Pictures:
I had her in clean water with meth blue and salt for a few days to start her off, then hit the big guns Maracyn and Maracyn 2 to kill whatever it is. After 5 days of treating, I stopped and just started meth blue again to give her a break. It's now the 11th day and she is mighty well and very beautiful! ;D
I love my Copper/Black/Red/White Marble baby! :inlove: And I'm so glad I was able to safe and cure her of the "thing". She's still in QT however... gotta hit that 3 week mark before entering the sorority to mob with the others.
