hi,
My grandson and I have been trying to set up a record 600. We've followed the instructions and we were going to buy our first fishes tomorrow. On the way to bed we checked the tank. It still looked good. I then decided to see how warm it was and dipped my finger into it. It feels cold to me. Unhappy boy is now asleep, I have re-read the instructions. Seem to have followed them. The only thing I can find is the mention of a red glow lamp which I have not been able to find. Has anyone any helpful hints they could pass on.
The tank came as a complete package but I have noticed that the tanks we have seen in pet shops all have bubbles. Ours has a filter, heater but no bubbles. Do we need to by a bubble maker?
Many thanks
Joshes Granny

IT'll take a while to heat (few days), give it time, I do have some bad news, it will be at least a month before the tank is ready for fish, please read here:

You don't need to buy an air pump for bubbles, they're there purely for aesthetics.

As StandbySetting said above, the tank needs to cycle. Otherwise, fish will die.

It really depends on the tank too. I have a freshwater tank. The temperature is at 27C. Our body temperature is 37C, so when I dip in my finger it feels cold but it's perfect for the fish. Buy a thermometer to monitor the tank temperature.

And cycle the tank too, because some bacteria needs to grow for proper functioning.

Good luck! :)
