Do you actually need a heater when the aquarium is in a temperature controlled room?
I set up a small 10 gallon (it is going to be the isolation tank for the inhabitants of my 75 gallon tank that is not yet set up). I did not buy a heater, yet the temperature has stayed at 78 degrees since it was setup a week ago.
I keep my house set at 72 degrees year round. The room that it is in happens to be the only room in the house with insulation in the walls and ceiling. This combined with a ton of electronics in the room makes this room always a few degrees hotter than the rest of the house. So with that said it almost always 75 degrees in this room.
The local pet store is insisting on the fact that I need a heater, but I just don’t understand the logic behind it other than the store making a few bucks.
Any comments?
