Regal Damsel & Clowns

When I started on my saltwater tank my intention was to get some regal damsel fish, I love the look of them. The more and more I've heard and seen clown fish behaviour though the more I'm liking the ideas of a pair of clowns.

I understand that both are are from the same family and can be agressive to each other, although I've heard mixed reviews of the combination so am still unsure.

I've read they can be okay providing all of them are added at the same time? I'm terrified of wiping them all out though in the event I add three fish at once (2xClown 1xRegal) and it turns out to be too much for my 125L tank.

Thoughts are most welcome As Harry Hill would say.....

Looks like its going to have to be a pair of clowns then. If I went for damsels instead would they potentially cause trouble with others? I was looking at getting a purple firefish too.

I have clowns and damsels in my nano and never had a prob. They couldn't care less about each other.

If you do go this route then I'd say add clowns first and then damsels and make sure damsels are smaller and you might be ok.

Bear in mind that adult damsels are well known to be aggressive but mine are well behaved.

Although I did lose my 3 green chromis to them but they were tiny.

Really, if you want a peaceful tank with happy fish, stay with a pair of clowns and the firefish

Lol! Saying all that, I'm offloading one of my damsels and moving him to my 8G when I fire it up this weekend because he's my main suspect of my chromis and goby going missing.

I've got a nasty habit of contradicting myself on here!......dumb #118####! Lol
